Piracy ads always compare piracy to stealing. We all know that stealing is wrong. It is against the law since the beginning of the civilization and you can be punished for that. In a way, stealing does feel the same with piracy if it is seen as taking something from someone without asking permission. However, when it comes to downloading software, mp3, movies, and games illegally from the internet, the case is more complex than that. Some people even will argue that it is not the same thing.

One of the most solid reasons is that when someone downloads something, he does not actually take anything away from the owner. The file is still intact in the owner’s possession. The downloader simply copies the original file and takes away the copy. Copying a file does not make the original file disappear. So there is nothing stolen really.

The second thought is that the downloader feels that he would not buy the software or game anyway, so they owner never really lose anything. If he cannot get it for free, they won’t buy it. Of course it is very easy to say that. However, no one can deny the fact that even if he WANTS to buy it, he will still download it illegally too. Why pay for something you can get for free anyway? And in the end, the owner does lose something he should earn in the first place.

I am not going to justify either side since like I said before, the matter is really complex. However, there is one thing I know for sure about internet piracy. The fact is that there are so many resources in the internet which we can find to download files illegally, from mp3 to expensive software which cost hundreds to thousands dollars. And as long as the vast resources are still in place, then there is no way that the piracy will stop.

How Facebook Can Hurt People

Are you one of Facebook addictive? Do you feel like you cannot spend a day without going online and check your Facebook account? If yes, you are not alone then. There are millions of people who already consider Facebook as an integral part of them, i. e. they cannot live without it. In general, Facebook is good. Many old and lost friends reunite through Facebook. Many meet new friends and even lovers. However, as anything else has flaws, Facebook proves to be able to hurt people and damage relationships.

The most common thing to happen is insensitive and rude comments. Sometimes people can say something nasty to you just to say that they were joking about it. Just saying that it was a joke does not change anything. People shouldn’t say things like that in the first place. The worse thing is, both parties would not be able to show and see face reactions to settle the problem as quick as possible. This can affect really bad in relationships.

Dating status is also lethal sometimes. At old times, lovers break up through letter, then phone, and then through Facebook status. Nowadays, cowards do not bother to even tell the other person to change their dating status from “in a relationship” to “single”.

The last one is the worst damage Facebook can cause. By the reunion of old friends, sometimes it means ex-girlfriend or boyfriend. When the marriage gets a little sour at one time, people tend to re-ignite old flames. Some do not last long and the marriage is saved, however, some have gone too far and cost the marriage.
