Senior Business Analyst

Apex is looking for several talented, curious and creative Senior Business Analysts who will participate in or lead operations consulting engagements. If you have worked in consulting positions, have a passion for resolving organizational “pockets of pain” associated with goals, people, processes or technology, we would love to talk with you.

In this position you will participate in the following activities, and more:

• Analyze client organizational processes, workflows, and communication patterns
• Assess, at a functional level, client systems and tools in order to recommend more streamlined, modernized, and integrated technology solutions
• Elicit open and trusted communication with clients
• Work with our clients to implement and manage change to their organizational structure, operational models, team configurations, process models, and technology plans
• Train our client staff in a variety of ways, ranging from process revisions to team building
• Assist in ensuring engagements are delivered on time and with the highest degree of integrity and accuracy
• Proactively extend Apex processes and document templates with creative and relevant improvements

In addition to client-related work, you will play an important role in helping to make Apex a more effective, innovative company that serves its clients faster and better every day. This will entail helping us “take our own medicine” – periodically reviewing our own process models, organizational structures, ways of delivering results to our clients, and more.

Our ideal candidate will exhibit the following characteristics:

• Outstanding communication skills, and specifically the ability to ask relevant, insightful and respectful questions about a broad range of operational topics
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Proficient documentation skills, including diagrams of process flows and organizational structures
• A deep background and expertise in business consulting from prior work with technology or management consulting companies, preferably in medium to large organizations
• A deep understanding of the relevance of well-applied technology for operational effectiveness
• A passion to work for “good companies” – companies known for being good places to work, for sustainable practices, or for making the world a better place and improving the human condition
• An irrepressible curiosity and eagerness to learn and to do the right thing, coupled with a willingness to speak candidly
• A BA or BS degree
