Quality Assurance Engineer

Apex is looking for a talented and highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer to take on a leading role in manual testing of interactive web-based applications. All work under this position is done at our Silver Spring, MD office.

In this position you will be responsible for the following activities, and more:

• Work with Engineering and Quality Assurance team to create test plans and other testing documentation
• Execute tests to identify potential defects in new and existing applications and document all issues into Apex’s defect tracking system
• Work with the Engineering team to troubleshoot reported issues by our clients
• Conduct verification tests to assure that reported defects are resolved appropriately
• Participate in research & development to improve testing practices, tools, and technologies

You will report to our Director of Engineering, and work directly for the Quality Assurance Manager on a day-to-day basis.

Our ideal candidate will exhibit the following characteristics:

• Two years experience testing web applications
• A high degree of organization and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and activities at once
• Excellent communication skills
• Interest in challenging yourself, growing and expanding your skills
• An irrepressible curiosity and eagerness to find out more, coupled with a willingness to speak candidly
• A BA or BS degree, though not necessarily in a technical field
