Engagement Coordinator

Apex is looking for a talented and highly motivated Engagement Coordinator to provide both project planning and tracking, as well as engagement communication to our team and our clients. All work under this position is done at our Silver Spring, MD office.

In this position you will be responsible for the following activities, and more:

  • Working closely with technical directors, build and maintain accurate project plans for each engagement, using Microsoft Project and other tools, as appropriate.
  • Track engagement progress against the plan on a regular basis, and communicate engagement status clearly and frequently to all internal parties and our client contacts.
  • Track creation and delivery of all contracted artifacts, as well as the review process to ensure high quality products for our clients.
  • Communicate weekly engagement status, upcoming milestones, and other important items to engagement clients.
  • Coordinate meetings with clients, ensure preparation, and create necessary materials for such meetings.
  • Communicate engagement status, as well as engagement risks and opportunities, to Apex relationship managers regularly.

You will report to our Director of Engineering, our Director of Consulting Services, or to a Solutions Manager, depending on your skill set and background.

Our ideal candidate will exhibit the following characteristics:

  • Two to four years experience with project management and client communication
  • A high degree of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and activities at once
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Interest in challenging yourself, growing and expanding your skills
  • An irrepressible curiosity and eagerness to learn, coupled with a willingness to speak candidly
  • A BA or BS degree, though not necessarily in a technical field
